Ubisoft, Ubisoft, Ubisoft.
Seems like they are competing with EA for the throne of ‘Most Hated Company’. It is hard to believe that the company that made game series like Assassin’s Creed, Prince of Persia and Far Cry is now focusing on money more.
Even that is nor a problem. But now, they are not even optimising their games well and then blaming it on others. Recently released Assassin’s Creed Unity has several performance issues including missing textures. Take a look:
The issue is clearly on their end. Basically, in pursuit of making their game ’next gen’, they are demanding lot of resources. Two things are happening:
- PC hardware has too much overhead and can’t cope up.
- Console hardware is not powerful enough to support this.
But rather than admitting this, here’s what Ubisoft had to say:
We are aware that the graphics performance of Assassin’s Creed Unity on PC may be adversely affected by certain AMD CPU and GPU configurations. This should not affect the vast majority of PC players, but rest assured that AMD and Ubisoft are continuing to work together closely to resolve the issue, and will provide more information as soon as it is available.
Looks like they are not even taking the effort to say something good, just randomly pointing fingers at AMD. Not to say that I am a big AMD fan. But they do make decent hardware at nice price points.

It’s hard to see all this happen to my favorite series, but companies!
