TL;DR: if you keep getting the CE-36329 error and have a hard disk attached, remove it and that should help.

Last year, I kept getting CE-36329-3 error on my base PlayStation 4 and PlayStation 4 Pro. After going to sleep, PS would always crash with that error on wake up.

I tried everything I could find on the internet:

  1. Put PS on Ethernet instead of Wi-Fi.
  2. Removed all other devices from the network and connected one by one.
  3. Completely restarted.
  4. Initialized it.

After initialization, it worked for a while and then I started seeing errors again.

I found the fix coincidently. After initializing again, I had removed my external drive. Once I connected it back to check some save files, the error started appearing more frequently.

I removed the hard disk and the errors disappeared again. I find it hard to believe that Sony hasn’t noted this clearly and their documentation is essentially trying restart and the contacting them.
